HostNine downtime was always as low as 0%. This means that the server was not down at any time. In fact, the server was ready to give full performance always without any fail. This high uptime was given for all the months without any fail. This means that the server was always delivering full service and this caused the users to wait at the web site without any dislike.

Customer reviews are also appreciating this high uptime by the HostNine servers. The servers were ready to work for hours on end and the users really could host their web site on a 24*7 basis. The customer support team always assisted people when they were found to suffer due to any failures in the system. HostNine has an uptime as high as 100%. This has been reduced to 96% only during specific time periods. The graph after the reviews show that, this reduction happened only for certain days and through the months, the uptime remained 100%. A downtime as low as 0% was reported during majority days. Such a downtime was violated on particular days where it went up to 4%.

Of course, the results for this uptime test were very poor because of the previous server we were on.

The red outage was when we had trouble migrating our account from California to Texas from the 24th to the 25th.

Server stability was such an issue, I felt HostNine wasn’t worthy of a host recommendation. In a final desperation attempt in November, we decided to move our HostNine Hosting Reviews account to a new server in hopes of better results.

The automated migration failed accounting to the customer service representative we spoke to. He was able to fix the issue while we were in live chat, which I was very thankful for.

Either way, we were offline for 26 hours during this period of server migration. In the end, it was well worth it for this site. This blog loads much faster, posting is faster, and the uptimes have obviously improved.

For the month of November, we show an uptime percentage of 96.11. Most of this was from the server migration transition period.

HostNine did a horrible job keeping our site online in the month of October.

Every time you see a dip, there was an outage. The longer the dip, the longer the outage was in total for that day. October saw plenty of outages  from HostNine.

With almost 15 hours of reported outages for the month of October, I won’t bother listing the days in which HostNine’s California Server was offline. There’s just too many.

The day with the worst outage was on October 7th with 7 hours of downtime. With that alone, there’s no way we could see 99.9% uptime. Final uptime grade for HostNine, F.

This is our first series of reports for HostNine. We have this site hosted on a HostNine Reseller plan and we chose California as our server location.

As you may have seen from our recent outage report, we’ve seen some problems with this Node8 California server lately. Buy how was September for outages?

As you can see, there were some problems throughout the month. All of the little dips you see were outages we’ve experienced from our testing service which sends ping / traffic to this site via servers from all over the world.

So what does our outage report look like?

As you can see, we started testing for this California server on September 10th, 2007. After this month, you’ll see full statistics for each day.

In total, HostNine was online 99.59% of the time with a total of 2 hours and 0 minutes of downtime.

Since we test in 5 minute intervals, this time is actually longer than what we’ve actually experienced. Since our service only sends pings once every 5 minutes, you have to account for the fact that if it was only offline for 1 minute, we still will show that as 5 minutes in our reporting. Therefore, you cannot assume our data is 100% accurate. It’s close, but not 100%.

In the end, 99.59% uptime is still excellent and we rate HostNine a 9/10 for September uptime.

On this HostNine server, we will be posting full unedited stats on server uptime, downtime, and response times.

Regarding Uptime, we have our pinging 3rd party company hitting this site once every 5 minutes. Therefore, if the server is down for only 5 seconds and the ping servers we use happens to send a ping at that time, it will count for 5 minutes of downtime.

Therefore, it is important to note that, although we may show stats lower than 99% uptime, they may have been up for that long. We could change this to 1 minute but we feel the bandwidth used from this type of testing would be extreme.

Also note that our testing company is sending pings from all over the world, not just from where we are located. Therefore, average ping response times will include very long distance ping requests. We’ll accurately report these speeds by splitting up US pings to non-US pings and then finally, a total overall combined score.
